Ja'Marr Chase, Joe Burrow ranked as top two social media influencers in NFL

We already know Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow and wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase are stars both on and off the field, but new data shows just how far their online reach goes.

Chase and Burrow placed No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, in a roundup of the top 50 social media influencers in the NFL. The NFL Players Association and Zoomph, a digital measurement platform, produced the report.

To create the list, the NFLPA and Zoomph measured each player's Twitter and Instagram metrics. Players' overall scores were composed of five factors: frequency of posts, social reach, engagement, fan demographic and fan attractiveness, the NFLPA website states.

The NFLPA and Zoomph focused on posts between Jan. 1 and July 31. Players could reach a high score of 250.

According to the data, Chase published 67 posts within the time frame. His just under 1.4 million followers, 5.38% engagement rate and over 89.4 million impressions clinched him the winning score of 103.

Burrow, on the other hand, had only 14 posts within the time frame, but his 3.9 million followers, 6.07% engagement rate and just under 140 million impressions bolstered him to the second-best score with 102.

The Bengals quarterback and wide receiver were recently on another list together − the NFL's top 100 players of 2022. Burrow debuted on the player-voted annual ranking at No. 21, and Chase jumped in at No. 24.
