Bengals' Chase makes NFL history, reaches receiving milestone quicker than Rice, Moss

Ja’Marr Chase joined elite company Sunday, becoming the fourth-fastest player in NFL history to reach 7,000 career receiving yards.

The Bengals wide receiver caught nine passes for 98 yards and a touchdown in Cincinnati’s 30-27 loss to the Steelers. Chase entered the game needing 80 yards to reach the milestone.

He reached 7,000 yards in his 81st career game, passing Torry Holt, who did it in 82 games, and Hall of Famers Jerry Rice and Randy Moss, who each reached the mark in 83 games.

Only Lance Alworth and Julio Jones, who each did it in 72 games, and Justin Jefferson, who did it in 73, got there faster.

Chase, 26, now has 7,022 receiving yards in 81 career games. The two-time first-team All-Pro is on pace for 102 catches, 1,048 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns this season.
