Adoree' Jackson gets praise from DeSean Jackson, Jameis Winston
It was a tough day in one-on-ones for the Titans cornerbacks going against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ talented receiving corps. One Titans corner in particular stood out to Bucs quarterback Jameis Winston and wide receiver DeSean Jackson. Both players singled out second-year man Adoree’ Jackson in their post-practice media sessions.
DeSean Jackson chatted with A to Z Sports Nashville after practice and talked about how good the Titans’ secondary is before heaping praise on the Titans’ former first-round pick.
“They got some good, talented dudes over there, man,” Jackson said. “Adoree’ Jackson is a young dude in this league that I’ve been watching since (he was in college at) SC being a Cali dude, so I definitely like his game. He had a heck of a rookie season.”
Winston was also in the middle of talking about the Titans’ entire secondary before veering off to point his compliments directly at Jackson.
“I think it’s so much fun playing against different guys every day. And when you got guys like (Bucs receivers) Mike (Evans) and DeSean (Jackson) compared against Malcolm Butler, and the new rookie, 25, oh my gosh. He’s incredible.”
The Bucs quarterback didn’t know Jackson was a second-year player, but he did notice him in practice.
There wasn’t a rookie in the 2017 class who played more snaps that Jackson did a season ago, and his productivity only got better as the season went on. It stands to reason he’ll continue improving this season after an offseason to workout and work with new secondary coach Kerry Coombs.
Jackson is having a terrific camp and looks to have taken the jump many expected him to take in his second year. Don’t be surprised if other quarterback-wide receiver combos single out Jackson as a nuisance for their offenses throughout the season.
