Dallas Cowboys annual Reliant Home Run Derby raises $50,000 for the Salvation Army

Wednesday night, the Cowboys stepped into the batter’s box to raise $50,000 for The Salvation Army Greater Metroplex Command.

Captained by head coach Jason Garrett, the players split into two teams – offense and defense – and traded turns at the plate for three rounds at the seventh annual Reliant Home Run Derby at Dr. Pepper Ballpark.

Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott, DeMarcus Lawrence and Jaylon Smith were among the players who took swings for a great cause.

“I look forward to it,” Pro Bowl center Travis Frederick said. “It’s a fun way for us get out here and raise some money.”

After raising just over $25,000 between the two sides, the entire group banded together for one more round that pushed the total to $50,000.
